What a difference 62 days makes...

Not necessarily on the scale...but just the positive changes you can feel in yourself in such a short time. I am one of those Jan 1 resolutioners who is still here. 62 day has yielded me a decrease in 13 lbs and 11 inches....nothing huge (haven't went down a size yet) but progress. Its many of the other small changes though that I've made that feel so good. Like today I ran three miles (albeit I'm very slow) when I could barely jog for 30 seconds 60 days ago. Today I am 31 days smoke free and boy does it make a difference when trying to reach your fitness goals. Speaking of fitness, at 34 I have had chronic low back pain for probably 11 years with the last 18 months or so being particularly bad. When I decided to make a change Jan 1, I knew exercise had to be part of it but I was so afraid....afraid that if I did try to exercise the pain would be so much worse. To my surprise and pleasure, the pain has gotten so much better. All that time of not exercising fearing the discomfort only served to weaken every muscle in my body that could help support a back that is always going to have issues to some degree. So I went from barely being able to bend over or finding it difficult to getting out the bed to running three miles today.

For me I truly think it was all about timing. I got married last July after many years with my now husband. I had waited for the day for so long but was a bit sad that even that wonderful event was not even enough to inspire me to try to lose weight. Hating the way I looked in clothes didn't do it....seeing myself in pictures didn't do it. Nothing really did it until something in me just clicked and I was truly tired of feeling bad all the time. I am thankful that with each small change I am feeling better everyday. I am also thankful for the tools of this site. I am learning alot....not about how to lose weight....I've done that many times before, but how to really try to change my relationship with food, fitness, and health. I also love all the success stories....they are so motivational. It really helps when you are having a less than optimal day.

Looking forward to the next 60 days!
