Polar heart rate monitor question...

Is it true that if your heartrate is too high & out of "your zone" are you burning muscle instead of fat? My heart rate is naturally really high and when I work out it goes anywhere from 140-200... is this okay for burning fat?

Not true. Polar will tell you as your heart rate gets into the higher ranges you are burning a higher proportion of carbs for energy as opposed to fat. However, you are are burning a greater number of calories. The HRM will show a smaller percentage of those calories burned as fat calories, but odds are that the smaller percentage of the greater total number of calories burned will still result in more fat burned overall.0
