perceptions of 'pigging out'

I had 500 calories left over for dinner. Then DH suggested Indian takeout. I LOVE INDIAN FOOD.
I didn't go with the butter chicken, ordered a rara chicken (chashews and cream) and some matar paneer. the order was mixed up, i got some kind of tandoori chicken, and my paneer dish. - it was DELICIOUS
I told myself I deserved this, i wouldn't well get over my limit more than a few hundred calories. I even decided to have a drink.
So instead of logging my so perceived 'pig out' as 800 calories bulk plus the drink, i looked up the calories.
Stunned I find it was in the neighborhood of 550 calories... including the drink.
my point really is, sometimes we imagine things way worse than they really are. too bad that doesn't happen with chocolate though...

I did that the other day with McDonalds. Thought I would be WAY over but had 15 calories left to spare. Not something I'm going to do regular but was nice to know I hadn't blown the whole day0
