Does this happen to anyone else?

Okay, I officially weigh-in and post only on Friday, but I actually weigh every morning. For some strange reason, Saturday mornings seem to be my lowest weight and then it sort of rises and settles over the next couple of days. Example: weighed in yesterday at 149.2 pounds and this morning was 147.8. However, it will not be this low again, and I will probably end up weighing in at 148 point something on Friday. I was blaming it on the scale, but the same thing has been happening every week.
BTW, I'm not complaining, just wondering if anyone could explain this. I'm weighing the first thing every morning. The only difference is Saturday morning weigh in is about two hours later on average due to me "sleeping in".
Thx!

yes, this is how it goes for me too. I am thinking that I tend to stay up later on Friday night, and even though we are just watching a movie at home, being up longer means I drink more water and go to the bathroom more and use more calories than if I went to bed like normal. I weigh every morning and the day-to-day fluctuations are amazing. Here's my position: the scale may show a bigger number due to fluid retention but it's not "real" weight gain. It's not physically possible to gain 2 lbs overnight without eating an extra 7,000 calories! But, I also tell myself that the scale CANNOT show a lower than "real" number, so I latch onto the lowest weight whenever it appears, usually a couple days a week. I drink lots and lots of water, so there's no dehydration, so the lowest number has to be my actual weight.0

I have noticed that if I weight in two or three hours later than normal (without eating or drinking), my weight is down a tiny bit. I attribute it to exhaling water vapor, perspiring, and expelling a couple more hours of urine. I have no idea if that's what's going on, but it's the only thing I can figure!0

Hmmm....I've thought about grabbing that lower number, but then I'll just be disgruntled when it goes up again. I know it's all water weight that is making the difference, but just wondered about this. Am I waking up really dehydrated on Saturday? It's just weird and in all the times I've lost weight, (Ha, too many!) I've never noticed it before.0

Sleeping in and weighting in later gives me a lower number.0

Are you out drinking? Could you be ( slightly ) dehydrated Saturday morning?0

I weigh myself everyday too. I have noticed a pattern too. When i drop a pound it always goes up the next day, then a day or two after it drops again and stays that weight. So i don't count that weight until i am at it for two days in a row. I also know i drop two pounds the day before my period every single month. Not sure why that is but it happens every time. I know not to count it because the next day it is up again.
I know a lot of people say not to weight yourself every day but i like to do it. I don't freak out when it goes up because it does and know it will because of my pattern. I feel it keeps me aware. I think if i was only weighing once a week and i happen to step on on one of the days it happens to go up i would probably freak out because i think i am gaining, i would not be aware of my pattern. Anyway, it works for me.0 -

No drinking....pretty much ever. Everything I take in is logged in my diary, which I think is open.0 -
Thursdays and Fridays seem to be my lowest days. No Idea why. There is no commonality from week to week that makes it this way. I weigh in offically on Mondays. Sometimes it's a few oz. more then my lowest for the week. I try not to put too much stock into it.0

I know what you mean. I just consider Friday the "weigh-in" day and all the others are for my peace of mind, or my OCD....whatever you want to call it.0 -
Yup! Weight changes daily and hourly for that matter. A lot of different things can cause weight to rise or lower.0

Weirdly, I have found that my lowest weight is always Thursday evenings after work. It makes no sense...but that is now my weigh in day. :laugh:0
