Hi all,
I am wondering if this has happened to some of you. I recorded my food intake religiously for 6 weeks, stuck to my goal 1300 cals max., walked 1 hour per day at least 5 days/week, and every week for 6 weeks, same deception when I stepped on the scale! Not a single pound lost week 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6!!! Now I gave up but really want to loose the weight! Feel horrible!
Help?

Depending on how many calories you burn when you walk you may be starving yourself.
Eat back those exercise calories and you may start to see a difference.
Also, adding weight training can really help with slimming down. Don't forget to take measurements, that gets me through weeks with no weight loss.
(I also walk every day, for about 1.5 hours. I added light weight training and started eating more and that's when the pounds started to come off)0 -
Did you gain any weight or just stay the same?
If you stayed the same then maybe 1300 is your maintain weight. Try working out a little more (do something different than walking if you can to change things up a bit), or just dropping a little more calories.
Although, i really hate to say that without looking at someones diary. It is hard to tell. But maybe you are not tracking every little bit of food you put in your mouth, maybe you are weighing or measuring wrong, maybe your sodium or sugar is way high, maybe you are eating junk food instead of healthy food. There are just too many variables without really knowing you or seeing your food/exercise diary.
This really does work if you stick with your calorie goal, eat healthy and exercise. You just need to find out the area you need to tweak.0 -
What type of foods are you eating?
The quality of your food plays a big role in weight loss.
Going for a little walk everyday is fine and good for you,
Also I'd throw in some High intensity interval training. There are hundreds of dvd's out there that will give you a great workout. I recommend Jillian Micheal's or The Biggest Loser DVDs. The Biggest Loser DVDs are always nice because they have real people doing the workout with you.
Don't give up though.
I also recommend eating lots of veggies, low fruit intake and watch your carb into (try to keep it below 100g a day) And DON'T DRINK your calories!
Try it for two weeks and let me know how you make out.0 -
You probably dont eat enough to lose weight.
the bodies mechanism kicks in and says "Nope! Not taking my energy!"0 -
You may not be eating enough. Check this thread out http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/3047-700-calories-a-day-and-not-losing0

You must be burning at least 150 calories, so your daily calorie intake is below a basic required amount of calories. This slows your metabolism and means when you do eat your body will hold on to the food because it feels like it is in starvation mode.
Is your current weight and height 100% accurate? Have you entered that into your fitness pal account and 1,300 calories is what fitness pal recommends to lose weight? If not, put your accurate weight and height in and set your goal, see what comes up.
If you have entered your details accurately, when you exercise make sure you eat the extra calories. Try to get as close to your daily calorie goal (Including exercise calories) each day. This will routine your body and it will start to realise you are trying to lose weight!0 -

This. You're not eating enough. And also, weight training. It is the only way to really lose fat. If you don't eat enough calories, your body loses muscle mass and itts unhealthy. Go to a BMR calculator, you can find one by googling. You shouldn't be eating any less than what your body burns naturally, most women think that the less they eat the better, but that isnt healthy.0 -
Hi peeps,
wow, thanks so much for the advice! I have been eating really well, balanced no-junk meals, but I see that the problem might have been that I didn't compensate for exercise calories! I'll also crank up the cardio!
Thanks a lot!0 -

How tall are you?
How much do you weigh?
Body Fat%?
How much are you eating daily?0 -
Hi again,
so for six weeks I ate really well, no junk food. Two toast with PB + nonfat latte in the morning, lots of veggies for lunch with a small piece of cheese for proteins, balanced dinners (meat + veggies). I had a burger a week for sanity purposes. Recorded absolutely everything.
My current weight is accurate. I weigh 170 pounds, am 5'9", BMI 25, body fat 28%. I wanna loose 20 pounds, but not happening. Fell off the wagon for the past 3 weeks, but when was watching, I was eating 1200 cals/day for the first 4 weeks and then when up to 1400cals (to try to prevent the starvation issue). I was walking for a min. of 4 hours/week at decent pace, but did not compensate for exercise calories! So maybe my body was starving!0
