I am fasting and just eating vegetables, nuts and fruits. I am still working out and staying within my 1200 calories. I was told that I need to eat meat becasue i am working out and I need the protein to help build my muscles. I have been fasting a week and I have 2 weeks to go. Will I hurt my progress since I am not eating meat? I will start back eating chciken and fish once my fast is over. Please help?

If you're eating 1200 calories a day, you're not fasting. You're abstaining from meat.
Protein is important when you're working out; if you don't want to eat meat, try protein shakes or powders.0 -
If you're eating, you're not fasting. And if you're fasting, you aren't eating. Since you're eating, I'll just ask, why are you not eating protein? Protein is the one nutrient that absolutely cannot be stored for later use (as protein.) You need to ensure adequate protein consumption to maintain health.0

i am a vegan, and most of my protein comes from nuts, beans/legumes... i lift, i am seeing results... i think this board is over concerned with powders and protein!0

Getting sufficient protein is important, but you can get it from non-meat sources. However you do need to be careful to find sources of protein so that you get all the amino acids from them. You may need to supplement if you're not careful.0
