Stress really a factor?

Simple question: can stress really affect my weight?

If you check what is available of my journal you will notice a LOT of Subway. I have been over the past few weeks been trying to be better about it, I'll work on keeping better track of it. I have been having morning classes starting at 8am, then work, then evening classes until like 9pm at night. There is no break. I am out from 7am-10pm most days and I am EXHAUSTED. The only reason I can enter stuff in my journal now is because I am working on my lab work and I'm researching in another tab.

Then over the past couple days I've noticed my weight going up by a couple pounds. I'm assuming it is due to the lack of sleep plus the stress (midterms are next week, and I have to train new people at work). I'm wondering if the stress is actually catching up to me in terms of my weight.

    Research cortisol. In short, yes.

When I was really stressed out I dropped to an almost unhealthy weight. I think it was the stress.
