Should I take a break?

Hi all!

I'm wondering about how many breaks people take per week. I've been exercising constantly for 8 days now, either 30 Day Shred or running (my first 5k yesterday). While i'm not in pain or exhausted i'm not sure whether I need to take a break to let my muscles repair? I've heard that your muscles hold onto water as well and a day break can help with this...

I just don't want to ruin my progress, I don't feel as though I need a break but i'm not sure if my body needs it.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Your body requires days off in order to recover. Your results will be hindered and can lead to injury if you don't allow your body to rest.

Muscle only grows at rest as the protein fills in the little "tears" in the muscle while at rest. Depends. But rest is crucial.

This! I always take at least 1 day off per week.

I just take breaks on days that working out doesn't seem convenient. If you are not running into that problem, you could break when you feel sore or you honestly don't feel like working out that day I guess. I don't think it hurts to keep going though.
