I did it. I finished my third 5K!!!

Since the course provided additional challenge (three steep hills), I decided to run it with less demanding (less ambitious?), classic strategy.

Before the start, all runners were assigned to seeded corrals. We were assigned to a corral according to our per-mile pace, with faster runners in front. Each corral was color-coded corresponding to the color on our number bibs. Guess what. I was not assigned to the slowest group. That was a pleasant experience for somebody who started running last May. It felt good. I did not feel that very, very new.

My today’s time was 28:28, pace/mile 9:11. It was better that my last (second) 5K when I finished with time: 29:33, pace/mile 9:31 last November. My first 5K was time 32.22, pace/mile 10:12.

THat is amazing! Congratulations! And that's a fabulous pace- I just started running last May, as well, & I have yet to get that fast!

Great progress. Those PRs will keep coming the longer you continue to train consistently. If you just started running you have up to ten years before you can max out on improvements.
