im confused, as most of us always are when turning to the internet for help.
i always though i had quite a big frame, but after a quick search on the internet and 2 or 3 sites later, i've been told i have a small frame!
im 5"8 and 160 pounds, but my wrist is 6 inches.
in my defense, they've always looked out of proportion on my body(people have even commented!), but is this just because, dare i say it, im pudgy and refuse to face the truth?

do i just wait and see as (hopefully) the weight comes off? I have wide shoulders, and generally seem larger than all of my friends. I need the truth MFP, am i in denial?

p.s. there are full length photos on my profile

I have very delicate hands, ankles and wrists (mine are actually less than 6 inches) but broad shoulders, a wide pelvis and a spacious rib cage. So, by wrist measurements alone, I would definitely be considered small-framed. But according to my doctor, based on his measurements (and also a bone density scan), I have a large frame and heavy, dense bones.

    I'm around 5'9" and weigh 145.

Maybe you have a frame that doesn't fit into one definition or category - like me! :-)

google search "frame size elbow breadth" you should find a couple of sites that take a few measurements into consideration. The fingers round the wrist is the least reliable as finger lengths differ hugely.

I'm not sure either, I've always felt that my ribs are really wide or big cus i'm not really small by any means but around my ribs I'm 34inches in which I can feel then without any trouble. when I lay down its crazy looking my ribs stick out so far! But I personally think I'm medium size. I'm not real big. at all being 152 and 5ft4. But I'm not small either....I got a pudgy tummy : \. And some meat on me....

I don't know, but you don't look like your frame is big from your picture.

ETA: It probably has a lot of do with our perception of ourselves. Growing up, I always thought I was large frame compared to other Asain girls around me. Now that I am older, I don't feel that way anymore.
