Hi all
So today is a sucky day, bed bound due to some kind of flu / tonsilitis bug.No exercise since Sat and highly unlikely to make a 6.30am session on Wednesday. Boo Hiss.
Figured I'd make use of lucid time to introduce myself, hopefull meet a few likeminded friends and we can help support each other once I'm back in fighting form!
I'm female, 30 from the UK (Welsh / Spanish hybrid), roughly 5' 7 & 3/4s", stated out mid Feb at 86kg and now down to 82kg (-9lbs down). Aiming for c 57kg (125lbs), but really a proper UK size 10 with a fit/toned body. Long term, it's about making myself the best I can be. For me, although I initially want to remove the excess weight as rapidly as possible, this has to be done as a healthy maintable life change - nutrition and fitness which continue for as long as I can stay away from a zimmerframe!
Welcome to Project Awesome! If you're looking to do / have done similar would be great to share tips and motivation!
Diet: (dairy should be viewable)
I'm staying away from dairy and gluten (IBS) for the most part and aim to keep things healthy.
Brekkie: Porridge
Lunch: at home it's protein plus salad/veg, in work it's more of a challenge and have been opting for Fresh Soups
Evenings: Cooking from scratch, lots of veggies and Mr George Foreman / stir fries / oven baking.
Lots of water, just forget to log it.
Weekly Fitness:
Have 2 x Personal Training a week, mix of strength and cardio. Currently working on core & upper body strength as they're both = 0
Aiming for 3 x Tony Horton's 10 minute trainer (2-3 blocks each session)
1 x something different - i.e. walking hopefully building up to interval jogging / sprinting.
Background....
Think I always had a screwed up relationship with food, probably didn't help having a yo-yo dieter mum who would put me on the same food for budget reasons when I was little, Plus her [not-so-bright] idea that this week we must bake a cake, because next week we are dieting: DO NOT BAKE THE CAKE MUM!
For my mum cakes and chocolate were treats and rewards, which she passed on to me as a behaviour. She still hasn't got that point yet and is now unfortunately obese with a lot of health problems, hugely reliant upon emotional eating which has been my downfall too.
When I was younger I did a lot of damage to myself by going down to a 7 & 1/4 stone, I was eating an apple and yoghurt a day & obsessed with the scale. My periods stopped for 6 months and my nails and hair were falling apart. When I came out the otherside, I wouldn't weight myself for many many many years for fear of going back there.
Sooo by my late 20s I was a 14-16 on my backside & not particularly happy about it, but due to the past it was really important I go about it in a healthy manner. Got my *kitten* to the gym, got a personal trainer, started eating well and got to a healthy size 12 - not far from my goal of 10.
That was over 2 years ago, since then a LOT of big changes have happened in my life (commuting 200 miles, living in hotels, relocating, new jobs, lots of stress) and I allowed them to get in the way which opened the door to ton of emotional & unconscious eating. Which means by Feb of this year, I hit size 16 & 86kg with a BMI of 29.4 (BMI of 30 at my height is officially obese), one heck of a wake up call for me I can assure you!!!
Life is still insane, work still takes up far too much of my life, but by hook or by crook I will do this - it's too important not to.
