Just starting out

I just joined myfitness pal today, and I truly have no idea where to start. I have never been a "dieter" so I have no clue about portion sizes or ideal foods to eat. Please share any info you have to offer, especially for someone just starting out. Thanks!

    Do not think of it as a 'diet' but, a change of life style. Small steps is the best way to start. Incorporate fruit/veggies, whole grain, healthy fats/oils, lean protein into your day. Read labels and become aware of what you are eating.
