Coke Zero is my poison

I know diet soda -- even with 0 calories -- is not good for you. I's full of junk chemicals.
However, for the past few weeks, I've been on a diet soda kick for caffeine while I've been working overtime at my job. Coke Zero has been my poison.
Coke Zero ingredients: Carbonated Water, Caramel color, phosphoric acid, aspartame, potassium benzoate, natural flavors, potassium citrrate, acesulfame potassium, caffeine.
I found that I was overindulging in coffee and it was tearing up my stomach. What are some natural/healthy ways to get an energy boost while working long hours?
Thank you!

personally, i dont think it's really all that bad. there's effectively a HUGE study pool to look at. millions of us (if not billions) consume it without any problems. I am one of those. we go through lots in our house. i find water really boring, and dont like coffee or tea, and i'm not really a fan of the fruity flavors available in crystal light. plus, i like the bubbles.
I do think that energy drinks that have tons of caffiene, or evil things like taurine, guarana or even ridiculous amounts of B vitamins are bad. they have a much smaller following, so smaller sample size to find damage. and damage is found, especially in kids (obviously you are an adult, but...) using them has caused heart attacks and strokes in seemingly healthy people.
as for good snacks... nuts. but you dont get very many. so grab a few nuts, and drink your coke zero slower :-)0 -
Well you are right on the poison part.....Just sayin...0

I'm with ariant... I drink my diet soda. Of course I do it in addition to my 8+ glasses of water a day too. EVERYTHING has something that is "bad" for you these days. Quite frankly I don't have the energy to keep up with it all I'm sure there are folks out there that don't like this either...but I like 5 hour energy. It has always helped me out in a bind. Choose what's best for you! If what works best for you is having a coke zero to get through a long work day... so be it! :flowerforyou:0

I take nutritional supplements (aka diet pills) for the caffeine/energy booster. Since I dont drink coffee or tea, and have limited my sodas- I had to have something to pep me up.. and 5 hour energy gets expensive really quickly! So- I head into my neighborhood GNC and ask for energizing blends. Some are really pricey- but some are quite affordable.
Perhaps the best option would be to quit working so much0
