Too much protein?

Options
Is there really such thing as too much protein? I go over my protein "limit" in my food diary by an average of 10-35g a day. My carb, fat, and calories are always within limits though. I work out about 5-6 times a week, usually at least an hour. I've also been talking a multivitamin and vitamin b complex, if that matters.

Will it make me gain weight or affect me negatively if I am eating more protein than MFP suggests?

I should add that I'm looking to lose weight, not gain.

you should eat at least half your body weight in protein. the amounts on here are really low so please go over every day. the more protein the less chance of being hungry :) and it helps build lean muscles!!!

Excess calories will cause you to gain weight. Going over your protein goal will not.

Also, if you are eating at a calorie deficit you will not be building muscle. Eating more protein will help maintain lean body mass when eating at a deficit. You would have to eat at a calorie surplus to build muscle.
