Happy May Day everyone.

We have a lot going on this weekend, but it's all fun stuff: Buddha's Birthday (I'm not a Buddhist, but they are vegetarians and it's fun), a friend's 40th b-day party, REI's sale.

So someday, I would like a regular/weekly job teaching yoga - my own class. On my way out of Yoga for Happiness, I met someone from a class I taught at the gym. She mentioned that a teacher was leaving - I thought, oh I could apply for the position. I get home, check my email, only to see that someone else was at least subbing for that class the rest of May. To make matters worse, it's the same person that got me into all kinds of trouble for not showing up for one of her classes (I was signed up to teach, but the regular teacher told me that this other person was teaching her class - she didn't show up - I was blamed for not showing up:angry: )

I really want to see if I'm a good enough teacher to attract people to a class. So maybe this is good - maybe I'm not a good enough teacher and she's saving me the slow painful realization that I'm not good enough

So, yeah, yoga for happiness was a restorative class. I probably needed it though as I didn't get bored and I'm no longer sore. Also did the bike ride and walk.

Today: walk/jog. Yoga at home if I do any.

Do something enjoyable today!

Mary

    Happy May Day!

Today is more yoga. . .I'm starting to feel like I'm having an affair with Rodney Yee. And, this afternoon I have (three guesses. . .) a Dr.'s appointment. I'm really hoping there's something somewhat concrete today. . .hope springs eternal!

Then, it's date day. This will involve empanadas, a trip to whole foods and possibly gelato. (unless the Dr. tells me to never eat gelato again  ) It's supposed to rain later, but I'm hoping it doesn't so there can also be a walk.

Mary, I'm sure you're an awesome teacher. I'm of the mind that if you want to find a steady class, you should do it. Also, I think a steady class is the best way to become a better teacher (even if you're already good. )

    Take care of yourselves!:flowerforyou:

Pouting now, as date day got postponed.

My husband redeemed himself by referring to downward dog as "*kitten* to the sun pose".

Mary, I bet you're totally good enough. It seems to me like subbing would be harder, because you have to step into someone else's shoes; but with your own class, you can get to know the regulars and decide how you want it to be. Even if they've got May covered, you could still let them know that you'd like a regular class.

 Awesome. Good luck at the doc, V.

I haven't decided if I'm going to the gym or not. The embarrassing reason is that I'm not sure my undergarments are a good choice for running... they seem to be riding up. :embarassed:

    Happy May Day! :flowerforyou:

Eeeeeeeeeyyyyaaaaawwwnnnnn...he just left...so I guess I already got Mary's "do something fun today" advice out of the way. :blushing:

Was on a date with a new guy and I definitely went off the program last night with drinks, but I still kept the eating under control. We split a spectacular seasonal tasting menu dinner of six courses but I probably only had two bites of each course (we split it).

I did my cardio intervals yesterday, 20 second bursts followed by 40 second recovery for 20 minutes with another 10 on either end to warm up / cool down. It felt great!

    Today's goals:
    ~ Vitamins
~ Hoping to get to happy hour yoga once this hangover goes away
    ~ WATER!!!!

Have a great day, everyone. Sorry to hear your date got canceled, Viv, but I love '*kitten* to the sky" pose as well! And MWD I have no doubt that you could build a following. Put that un-yogi behaviour from the other teacher in the past and keep on moving toward your own goal. You'll get there! I would love to take a class from you -- I can tell just from your posts that you would be a good teacher.

Not sure why I felt the need to reiterate that we split it!!!! LOL...must be feeling guilty.

Hey now! Keep it PG-13 here!!!

I'm not a yoga fan, but I even think I'd try it with you teaching Mary. Just own up to the miscommunication (amazing how shocked people are when you say, it's my fault, won't happen again) and they'll probably keep you in mind. In terms of the semantics of the yoga masters here, none for me!

Just decided to re-start on May 1st, but for some unknown reason Chase (personal trainer) and I started wed. Three days of it: running & lifting and as my husband says, I'm waking like an old lady and everyone seems to think it's funny to poke my tender, swollen muscles. :noway: NOT COOL!!!!!

Ha ha, anyways, I'm done with my athletic training coverage for this school year, just a couple weeks of teaching left until my official summer break; YIPEE :flowerforyou: :drinker: :flowerforyou:

    Keep up the good work!

    Update:

Not diabetes. Doc told me to continue the niacin for the high cholesterol. He is puzzled by the fatigue, and has ordered a sleep study for me.

He also proposed: a delayed stress reaction from the strike. (a mild case of ptsd) a fibro flare-up. and the possibility that maybe I'm just taking a long time to get well after my current illness. He also wants to see copies of all my records from the gyno, and will explore some sort of hormone issue (such as PCOS). Blergh.

I'm thinking of seeing a naturopath, but my last experience was a bad one, so I'm hesitant.

    Hey,
I've been super busy today. I don't have time to read all the posts either. V, I am glad it's not diabetes. I hope they can find out what it is soon!
I went to Bible Study this morning and then came home and made a birthday cake for my in laws. We're going to see them tomorrow and their birthdays are on Tuesday and Wednesday. We haven't seen them since January I think. It will be good to get away for the day even though it's out to the country. Maybe I'll post pictures of the cake. The icing is really good. Hee hee. Whatever gets sent home with us is going to go with us to church in the morning and get eaten there!
I don't think I will get to post tomorrow, so you all have a good day! I'll be thinking about you all!

Mary, I love your workout! Not the sort of music I would expect for yoga - the NIN is a great start. I don't really know the Pogues, but I like the Waterboys, Midnight Oil, 'One Week', and of course 'Particle Man'!

V, I'm really glad to hear that it's not diabetes. You've talked about anxiety before, right? I'm glad at any rate that you have a doc who is actually trying to help you figure out what is going on - even if he's not having a lot of success so far. Good luck.
