Hey everyone!
So i've been doing my research all morning trying to find more information on bubble tea calories. Needless to say, I'm not finding a lot of results! So, I've decided to come to the lovely MFP peeps.

Does anyone know the approximate calories of a regular slush bubble tea with pearls? I know there was one entry for it on our food list but it seemed low! If it's that low I may just be moving to an all bubble tea diet! The place I go to does an all fresh fruit bubble tea  Also, I'm trying to figure out if the lychee jelly is a better substitution for the tapioca pearls?

Thanks & have a great Friday!!

    Would this help?

    http://www.bobateadirect.com/Nutritional-Info-p-1.html

If you download the bubble tea PDF it seems to have all sorts of info for all the constituent parts.

This article also seems to be quite informative:

Awwww thanks ladies!!!! You are both doing sooo amazing!!! The pic I have up is from almost a year ago....I think i need new pics!! But thanks both & keep up the great work!

Lauryn, You must try bubble tea!! It's my absolute favorite treat! But yes, try and avoid the pure sugar syrups and go for the hot tea with pearls or slush tea made with fresh fruit! Mmmmmm....I think i'm going to celebrate the first day of May & the lovely weather with one today!

I'm always up for trying new things.
Is this something I can easily make at home or is this a specialty drink somewhere?

Lauryn, You can usually find them at Thai places or bubble tea shops. My favorite weekend meal is a Vietnamese sub with a bubble tea...mmm....heaven....Enjoy!

You can usually find the black pearl tapioca at any asian market (in CA there was 99 Ranch Market). I just buy those, cook my own (it's just boiling it in water) and make my own smoothies. Then I just add the boba (tapioca pearls) to the smoothie. The asian markets also sell the big bajanga straws so you can suck them up! That way I always know the calorie count. YUMMY!

The bubbles are just big balls of tapioca. You might want to start with a search for that.

Vanilla Coconut! Delish! Well, I love vanilla, mango, strawberry, and other than that I haven't really branched out because I'm always a sucker for going back to my favorites  I didn't make it to my favorite shop yesterday, but I think I deserve a treat today!

    Have a great weekend everyone!
