So, math was def. not my strongest subject in school!...Anybody have a clue so I can unlock this spreadsheet haha!... I know there is an engineer out there, but can he solve this problem!

This is a mathematical challenge, and it's been said that:
If you're an engineer, you should be able to solve it in (under) three minutes (more like 30 seconds), if you're an architect, in three hours; if you're a doctor, in six hours; if you're an accountant, in three months and if you're a lawyer, probably never.
if you're good at math or logical problems, solve this challenge and the answer is the password to open the spreadsheet to which you can add your name to the hall of fame.
What is the missing number in this logical series?
1, 2, 6, 42, 1806, ____???
The answer is the password to open the spreadsheet that is attached to this email. If you figure it out, open the spreadsheet, type your name in, save it and resend it to your friends

    3263442

    n*(n+1) = x

    1*(1+1) = 2
    2* (2+1) = 6
    6*(6+1) = 42
    42*(42+1)= 1806
    1806*(1806+1)= 3263442

the pattern is this: each number is being multiplied by the next larger number. that is, 1 is being multiplied by 2 to get 2. 2 is being multiplied by 3 to get 6. 6 is being multiplied by 7 to get 42. 42 is being multiplied by 43 to get 1806. so 1806x1807=3,263,442.

    I think I'm right.

So put my name on the Hall of Fame if it opens the spreadsheet-

    Yes, it's 3263442

I'm a history major... and it took me about 2 minutes (without looking at the other answers :))

    I just did it 42*42 + 42 = 1806

    (1806 * 1806) + 1806 = 3263442

    (1806 * 1806) + 1806 = 3263442

That's pretty much the same thing just put a different way. My dh has a masters in math I should send this to him.

I  Math. Which is why it's taken me nearly a year to get the motivation to do this online History of Economics class. I don't mind the economics of it all but the History... BLECH! I was a super Math nerd in high school and a bit in college.
