Still experimenting

So I posted a topic a few weeks ago to get advice from fellow MFP folks on why I had hit a plateau and gained a few pounds back. The overwhelming response to my question was that I needed to eat more! So I increased my calorie intake to 1330 from 1200. Also, I actually eat back the calories I burn off, and try to NET at least 1,200 per day. I didn't make it today, but that is what I shoot for. The weight loss stall broke and I met my first goal of losing 30lbs by March 3rd. Also, I took their advice and started drinking 7-10 cups of water per day.

I also bought a heart rate monitor to get a better calories burned count.

My questions:

Is netting 1,200 enough still, or should I bump it up a bit more? It just seems counter intuitive to eat back ALL of your burned calories and I'm hestitant to increase more. I'm somewhat active and do light-moderate exercise 5 days a week, between 30-100 minutes. Mostly walking because I have a back injury I'm trying to be careful with. . . some jogging, some Zumba (carefully!)

I'm currently 206lbs, 5'7", female, 25 years old. Also a vegetarian, if that is important to anyone. My diary is open too.

  • 1200 is considered the minimum. I think most women over 200lbs would have a much higher calorie goal. What does MFP set it at if you take its guidance? It will create a goal for you based on your age, weight, gender, activity level, etc. What does the site say?

The site told me to aim for 1240 originally. I have a desk job and don't do much moving around at work.

Also, after the first few weeks, I've been steady losing 1.5-2lbs per week. Except for the stall. I just want to avoid another stall right now.
