I am going in for an MRI Thursday morning.. I have had pain all my life in my knees and can hear grinding I have been over weight the last 6 years so I know that doesn't help either.... Those of you who have had this issue what do they do for it normally???????

  • I don't have that issue but have another knee issue. I focus in nutrition. I also look for exercises that are low impact to the knees. Pilaties, swimming, lifting weights, things that don't aggravate it.

i have lived w/ chronic knee pain for 7 yrs now (and know about that grinding sound). physical therapy and icing my knees 1-2x/day. arnica gel. swimming, biking, and now recently riding the elliptical again. avoid high impact activities such as running or running up/down stairs. i wear knee braces especially when i workout and orthotic insoles in my shoes. if any physical activity hurts, stop. when it comes to knees, "go big or go home" is not the best policy. good luck w/ the MRI, and seek a few different doctors/healers opinions as they may vary. if you have anymore questions feel free to contact me but it sounds like you may know more than i might, since youve lived w/ knee pain your whole life - you must be a very strong woman! :)
