anyone had a knee replacement?

I have a family member getting knee replacement surgery soon. Wondering if anyone here could tell me more about their experience and recovery with this?

    Hi,

    I had a total knee replacement 30 months ago, both my knees were bad but this was op 13 on my L knee. It's pretty good now, the only thing I really miss is not being able to kneel down anymore (and seeting off the alarms in every airport I visit!). The only advise I'd give is try and build up the muscle as much as you can before the op, and then tkae the physio's word as absolute law :) They may seem like they are out to make you worse but it's not true.
