any hairdressers here? HELP!

non weight related post for hairdressers. maybe you can be so kind and help me out? Here's the deal..two years ago I went through drastic chemo and radiation..lost all my hair, it grew back in dry and brittle, a totally different colour and texture. I do fitness modelling and they bleached my locks for photo shoots...i haven't done anything to my hair since November, other then maintenance cutting, I blow dry and hit it with a flat iron, using a heat protector..problem, my hair is suffering massive breakage and is ridiculously dry..very damaged, ..I'm unwilling to get a "chemical" shot cut...not my thing short hair, would extensions help...? and will i do more damage to it by coliuring my hair back to my normal golden red locks? any help guys...it's really bad!!
