Juice Cleanse

I'm thinking of starting a 3-day juice cleanse/detox, and I'm curious to hear about anyone's experience(s) with it. Is it safe?! I read something about how your metabolism slows down and that you experience "side effects," like headaches and nausea. Is it worth it? I figure it's only three days compared to others who do it for about a month. Also, how will I be consuming enough protein?
