Okay I am a 40 year old man who lifts 2 to 3 times a week 20 mins full body non stop 10 stations 12,10,8,6 then 12 then move to next station. I was recently looking at NFL combine and saw this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ee2cWddxHdI

Please do not take this as bragging, but this KID is almost twice my size..... After working out -- I was curious to see how many times I can do 225 on the bench with no spotter..... I stopped at 40 - for I didn't have a spotter - I have not lift since Thanksgiving due to an injury. I just started back last week? Am I really that strong or are NFL players muscle endurance just weak? has anyone tried this bench press test. As I get older -- I can not work out with 405 5 x5 - But that is what I was doing a year ago before I started just staying between 225 and 315 with high reps...... I am far from a body builder or power lifter.... Just a guy trying to stay healthy for his wife and 3 kids.... and turn back father time a couple of years.... I never ever really focused on looks until I hit 40. Strength was always my measure. Thanks for any comments...

To be fair... 2 plates a side on bench is a no small amount of weight! I manage 155lb or so for like 4-6 reps. My training partner's a fairly big guy who's been training for years and he tops out at 225 for about 5 reps.

So yeah... I'd say you're pretty strong by the standards I see in my gym - and my gym is a solid bodybuilders type place.
