Logging Couch to 5K- Help

Hey Everyone,
I have a question. So I have started doing the couch to 5k to vary up how I do my cardio. I dont have a heart rate moniter and I dont know the distance of my runs while doing the couch to 5k. Do I need to know those two things in order to log it in correctly?

I tried it last fall and just added up all the individual times for each estimated speed. So, I added up all those 90 seconds of jogging and logged that and then did the walking portion. It was easier since I was on a treadmill and new the exact speed, but you can just guess at the speed you were going.0
