Bad news: I abhor bananas (I wish I didn't) Good news: I am so excited to start making smoothies....but!!! Most smoothies call for bananas :-/ What are some good/easy/healthy/tasty substitutes for bananas. I've heard half an avocado is a good one. Thanks for any help you can offer!

Just skip the banana and use a different fruit. I rarely use bananas in smoothies. I usually opt for some combo of plain yogurt, fruit and veg.

Hello fellow banana hater! Here are some other excellent sources of potassium that have even more potassium than bananas:

Dried Chervil contains the most potassium with 4.7g (135% RDA) per 100g serving - add to egg whites or soup
    Avocados
    Paprika and Red Chili Powder
    Cocoa Powder and Dark Chocolate
Dried Apricots, Prunes, Zante Currants, and Raisins
Pistachios and Other Nuts - try Trader Joe's sugar free dark choc covered almonds!
Seeds (Pumpkin, Squash, Sunflower, and Flax)
    Fish (Pompano, Salmon, Halibut, Tuna)
Beans - white, soy, black, lima, etc.
    Dates (Medjool)
