I am going to universal on sunday. I was wondering how someone would log all the walking I will get in. I figure we will be there for about 9 hours and be walking for at least a third of that somewhere between 3 and 4 hours. (there is two parks and we go back and forth) I know I should have a pedometer but mine is broken. So I thought I would ask if anyone has a suggestion. I dont want to over log cause that just feels like cheating!
BTW...I have reached 15lbs wooo whooo me!!!!:drinker:

Sounds like fun! I would just keep track of how much you walked (maybe wear a pedometer?) and log how many miles/steps you think you went OVER your normal activities. This would most likely give you an accurate log.
I NEVER worry about losing weight on fun days like that or vacations and I'll tell you why.
1. I always make healthy choices - even if there aren't too many "healthy" foods, I try and pick the best one. (and a small ice cream cone won't kill you for one day!)
2. You are constantly on the go! I find I always LOSE weight without even trying on vacations.
3. YOu're sweating off all kinds of liquids! Stay hydrated - it will keep you from getting too hungry.0 -
thanks! we always carry bottles of water that we refill, drinks there are so expensive!
I always avoid ice cream, its my weakness and so I treat it as though I had to quit smoking or something. I just quit icecream! It is what made me fall off the wagon last year and gain back all the weight I had lost plus 12 lbs!
I had a pedometer but its broke/dead. I think what I may do is when I log it use the slow 2mph and do it for 3 hours. I know that I will be there for at least 9 so that sounds fair.
Does anyone have ideas for while you stand in line? I thought maybe since my legs get stiff anyway squating down and standing up every once in a while. That could get in a little bit of exercise as well!!!0 -
Lizbeth gave some great advice...I agree. enjoy your day! This is why you are getting healthy....to have MORE of these days
I have a pedometer I can loan you.....I'll meet ya there :laugh:0 -
I once found a calorie estimate for shopping...it's amazing how much those hours of strolling around burn. I can't remember if it was this site or another source, but if you google it you should find it.0

I did the amusment park last weekend! I did keep track of the minutes walking (slow pace)and logged that. I didn't calculate in my stroller with the 30lb child , cooler and all the other hoopla mothers carry! I treated myself to some goodies and had fun! You do the same!!!!:glasses:0
