Losing too fast?

I lost 6lbs in my first week which obviously I was very happy with but want to make sure it's not too fast and won't just come back in a week

Congrats, you lost 6 lbs of water weight, which is very common when you start this. But how many calories are you eating?

Week 1 is usually a lot of water weight drop - keep doing the right things - it will slow down to a normal pace in another week or two.

I felt like I was losing weight to quickly in the beginning and depending on who you ask, I was. I had other symptoms that I didn't like (my body temp was always cold and that is not usual for me and I was tired more often). I think it was because I was eating too few calories (I was going by what MFP said I should eat).

In the beginning it's likely a lot of water weight so extra will come off. You should see how you do over the course of a few weeks and adjust based on results!

Some of it will be just water weight, but make sure you're eating enough. You want to be hitting, or getting close to, the calories MFP has calculated for you. As long as you do that, you shoould be ok.

I lost seven pounds the first week and gained back five the next week.

Mine was due to such a drastic diet change, I believe it was mostly water - since I finally started eating well and drinking enough water.

Don't worry about it, you will have many up-and-down weeks. It's all part of the process.

My target is 1590 cals a day I think that's NET, I dunno, but I've been ending under that every day, not through choice but it seems hard to get to that amount

It's not out of the norm to loose a lot in the 1st couple of weeks. Your body is doing something different it will take time to adjust and you should see it drop to 1- 2 lbs per week.

I lost 5 lbs, then 7 the next, then slowed to 1.5-2.5/week. If you're eating at least 1200 a day, preferably closer to your MFP goal, then you're not going to lose too fast.

it might it might not. in my expperience as a trainer the firat month will produce the biggest weightloss. you should note that 2lbs can be every day fluctuations so you may have only lost 4lbs, and noone has the magic ball to tell you if its water weight. but depending on how heavier you were/are then probably you will keep it off.

IDK if you know this, but you can customize your cals, how many lbs you want to lose per week, etc instead of having MFP do it for you. I adjust mine for the protein and the fiber also.

You prob. lost alot of water weight. I think that alot of people tend to gain back some because they stop drinking their water. Like the other posts stated, you should level off w/in the next wk or two.

    Good luck

Yeah, I read in places that it could be water weight. I make sure I drink plenty each day.

As a guy, you need to be netting more than 1500 calories a day or a lot of the weight you will lose is muscle mass and based on your picture, you don't seem to have much to lose. So you should probably aim to lose .5 lbs to 1 lb per week. What is your goal?

Either way, you should aim to get 1500 calories net to maintain lean muscle mass.
