I am working out with P90x and am being contacted by the BB coaches to 'join my group'.

i did read about it, but I want to know from an actual USER/MEMBER what their experience was like, the checking in and posting pics every 15 days, the 'group support' etc...did you find it useful? What was it like? Did you find it helpful?

I DO NOT want any BB coaches asking me to 'join and find out'...I want 'real world' user thoughts, thanks.

I did two rounds of P90X and one of Insanity. I was also bombarded by their group adverts. I never joined however. Got fantastic results without it. ;)

I'm in week 4 of the program. I am really enjoying it. I'm not doing the nutrition part, which I should, but my strength is increasing and I've lost a couple pounds over the last few weeks too.

thanks for the replies, I'm not doing the meal plan either...that's way too much food for me to eat.

I have a friend that did the program and lost 44lbs the first round. That's what motivated me to do the program.

I'm just not so sure about the 'group check-in'

Still interested in hearing about any experiences people may have had if they did join a group.

In my opinion the goal of a beach body coach is double sided. Yes I'm sure they want to help you and will indeed answer alot of your questions, but the ultimate goal is to make money. Coaches get paid for every other coach they sign up underneath them over and above selling beach body programs and supplements. You'll eventually get emails toward the end of your first round that go something like..." Hey great job on your weightloss. You should be a coach so you can share your success and motivate others!" In the end it is a marketing tool to sign as many coaches as you can and those in turn will do the same. You get paid for every generation of coach under you and eventually are assigned a "diamond" status when you hit a certain number of coaches. That's basically the idea behind getting you to join a group. It will make zero difference in your results as all your questions can be answered here or in the beach body forum.

I have heard of the 'MLM' part of the coach thing...I'm just a little apprehensive because one guy wants me to join his group, and I told him I cannot afford the Shakeology, which is part of the 'program' so he said 'no problem, you don't have to do it"...so he won't be making any money off me anyway. So weird.
I didn't find their forums to be all that helpful...seems you have to be a coach to answer most of the questions anyway.

I've done three rounds of P90X and am almost done with P90X2. I am very involved with my coach and the threads that he provides. I really like the advice and the camaraderie with all the other people that post and who are following the same workouts. Yes, you can get the information here or in the forums, but I like the accountability and the email reminders. My coach mentions when products are available, but there is never a hard sell on them or on the business opportunity which I am not interested in. Also, you can change coaches if my some chance you are assigned one that you don't like. I don't see a down side.
