I started this journey to get fit (again) on October 9th. I weighed 159 at the time. I had lost 3 pounds after the first couple weeks so I was around 156. At that time, I went to see a trainer at my gym for my free sessions (that had come with my membership ages ago...oops.) These were my measurements then (they may not be exact b/c those numbers are at the gym):

Late October 2011:
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 156
Body Fat %: 28.6%
Body Fat : 44.6 lbs
Lean Muscle/Body Mass: 111.4 lbs

I had 3 surgeries in December/January and was OUT of the gym and on bed rest for over 1.5 months. (Ugh!)

I measured these stats again today and...........

March 6, 2011:
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 149
Body Fat %: 23.4%
Body Fat : 34.8 lbs
Lean Muscle/Body Mass: 114.1 lbs

So, since I started MFP again in October, I have lost 10 lbs!

Since October, I have...
LOST 7 lbs
LOST 5.2% body fat (From overweight/above average to normal!)
LOST 9.8 lbs fat
GAINED ~3lbs muscle!

I was SO excited at this, especially because my scale hasn't moved in 2012, but I knew I was looking better. This explains why! I could never lose another pound and just keep losing body fat and feel SO awesome and proud of myself. YAY!

My next goal isn't weight related anymore! It's to get under 22% BFP! That's the lean category!

I love this post - your example really helps reinforce why the "weight" measurement isn't nearly as important as fitness.

Congratulations - you have every right to be very proud! :flowerforyou:

I know, I think it clicked yesterday how important body fat is over the scale. However, I am sure I could improve both faster if I step up the cardio or something. I want to still drop a bit more to help me get closer to that 22% goal.

So any suggestions on how to speed this up would be great! :)
