6 months ago I could barely do 1 chin-up or pull-up. it was pathetic. in fact, I cannot remember a time I could do any sort of good form dead hang pull up or chinup. I always cheated (had bad form) for even the 1 I could barely do.
Well, I did 8 chin-ups tonight. Dead hang, legs crossed at the ankles, as good a form as I could for each one.
That is the most I have done so far.
And that was after 5 sets of pullups, leg raises, and chinups i had already done.
I also am up to 7 pull-ups in a narrow grip (palms facing away). Which is actually harder than the chin-ups.
only recently started doing sets of wide grip so am only doing about 3-4 at a time.
at first I was doing a pull-up or chin-up every time I went through the doorway into my kitchen.
then I started doing sets of 5 narrow grip pull-ups and chin-ups. sometimes only 3 sets in a day, sometimes 4 or 5.
I didn't keep track of how many times a week I did it, sometimes almost every day.
I also do hanging leg raises, sets of 5.
I recently started doing sets of 3 rep wide grip pullups. 5-7 sets in a day. Along with chinups and leg raises.
I also do pushups, 4-5 sets of 20-25 each, a few times a week. Crunches, a few different styles. Sets of 25.
Squats. Lots of Yoga. Cycling. Walking. And some Jogging.
sorry for my rambling post but I am excited to hit 10 narrow grip pullups and chinups soon. Along with 5 solid good form dead hang wide grip.
