Does anyone know of a really good virtual jogging DVD? I tried a friend's Wii Fit yesturday, and LOVED the jogging one, where you were a shadow following the runner in front of you. I LOVED the way the scenery changed and there were other people and even dogs around! It really made me feel like I was really there!
I just can't justify spending 250.00 on the Wii though, and then another 90.00 for the Wii Fit, just so that I can jog in place in my own house! So it dawned on my that maybe there are some DVD's out there that would kinda give me the same effect, for a LOT less money.
I did a search, and came up with some jogging/biking DVDs, but they just didn't seem nearly as good as the Wii Fit jogging. Maybe it was because the screen bobbed up and down alittle, like you were actually jogging. Sooo, any suggestions? Thanks, Brenda
ps. My husband said to add "or anyone with a Wii that you don't want?"!!!

It is better for you to go outside, where there is fresh air and the scenery changes.

There are a lot of programs out there, like the couch to 5k program, that will help you work up to running. It is better for injury prevention and you are likely to burn more calories with outside running than inside.

Although the wii fit is fun it is not needed. Get a pair of shoes and sweat pants and have fun.

I HAVE been outside walking a lot, but right now we're getting into our NH "black fly" season, and let me tell you, it's NOT much fun! There was a true story years ago of a man who escaped from jail, but actually turned himself in because he couldn't take the black flies! They're pretty awful! :grumble:
Not to mention our LONG, LONG winters aren't the greatest for walking either! :explode:
So I'd like to find a fun alternative for those times of the year when it's just WAY TOO unpleasant to be outdoors.

you could try getting the wii used...? best of both worlds:happy: A friend of mine found the whole thing for under 200$ (that was with the 'fit' part and all)

Other than that, maybe a gym membership or a treadmill. ???

I haven't found any other exercise dvds that work like the wii fit. The wireless controllers have motion detectors and I don't think there's anything out on the market in exercise dvds - you are looking for the interation that the wii provides.

I bought a used one on ebay and I love it. My favorite is the rhythm boxing - my husbands favorite is the running.

Thanks, that's probably just what we'll end up doing! :flowerforyou:
