Find it extremely irritating to look for a food to add to a meal and find 100 entries, and they all have the wrong stats???? Gesh, that really gets to me. How can there be so much incorrect information on here? People you arent doing anyone including yourself any favors by fudging on your numbers.!!!
ok, i feel better.

Just add that food into the system with the correct brand and correct information. It gets check and if it's not a reliable source no one uses it and it will show you how many people used it or disagreed with the information!

I get annoyed at it as well, but I just adjust the calories, fat, etc. so it's the same as the package. Also make sure to look at the serving sizes.

I constantly go through checking and correcting foods I eat that the info is wrong for, but I was so angry the other day, had a chicken salad roll whilst I was out, didn't keep the packaging since it was from Tesco's so of course the information was going to be on here, the calorie count was apparently "188" (the roll itself was probably 200 cals for crying out loud, never mind the filling) and the fiber/protein/sodium/carb count .. all 0 (I ended up going through all chicken salad rolls and choosing one that sounded about right in the end ugh). Same with a sweet chilli dip, apparently it was all calories and 0 carbs/fat/sodium. If people want to cheat on their diary can they just use quick add calories instead of messing around with the database it drives me mad. Like I eat mini chicken satays a lot (they're cheap lol) and twice now I've had to change the nutrition information on them because someone's changed it back to something stupid.

Agreed... I just check the stats before I add it to my log - if the stats aren't right I re-enter it from the package. I definitely understand your frustration though... There is so much incorrect info entered into this database by people who just don't seem to be that bright! How hard is it to read the label?
  • Horribly frustrating. Sometimes there are so many wrong entries I wonder if the manufacturer actually changed their nutritional content at some point. It's irritating. If I have time, I create the correct one. Otherwise, I pick the one that is closest to correct. I mean really, how hard is it to read a label and copy it correctly?

I was wondering the exact same thing about manufacturers changing labels yesterday! I guess I'm just hopeful that so many people who are here trying to change their lives wouldn't be so lazy that they can't even be bothered to enter a label correctly. :noway:

Actually, i've had two products with different labels. I think it was a peanuts (same product) but one package was more ounces.
    Sometimes it's not people's faults.

Why to create new correct one? In nutritional info of food record is an option to validate its accuracy. If you click No, you can edit the record and correct it :)

Many people are only interested in the calories, so a lot of the other nutritional details dont get added. I dont think they're deliberately fudging the numbers!

yYs it's frustrating, though I've found that over time my own recent history will have all teh foods I usuaully eat.

The barcode scanner on the iPhone is brilliant, though! (Mind you, even then I've found some errors, so even it isn't infallible)

I hate that, too. Is there a way to check it BEFORE you add it? I hate when the description is exact and the serving size is the same, then you add it and it's wrong. grr. This is supposed to be quick and easy. I don't want to quick count calories though. I like seeing the other stuff in my log, too.

Luckily, you have an eye for detail. Most people probably wouldn't catch that and that is completely an honest mistake. I'm more frustrated with people only adding the calories and not the rest of the macros. In addition, the ones that are so far off the real numbers that the person must have been drunk when adding them. That makes me :noway:

It down right pisses me off especially when the calories and fat are entered but everything else says NA.

I always double check and if I find it wrong I added it in My Foods section that way I know it's right.

I agree..it is not so hard to read a freaking label. I am basically referring to the Healthy Choice meals I eat every day at lunch. They are all the same size....the one i had today, there must have been 50 entries and they were all wrong~!!!

It's frustrating. It would be great if the website showed the barcode. At least then we could all focus on correcting the foods linked to barcodes.

Many editors correct errors. The following topic was started to discuss spelling but it also mentions duplicates, and the provision of weight in the title (so you can see if it's in grams). See:
