Hi,
the Hometrainer in my studio always shows less calories burnt then the one i have at home.
the same with the one at my mothers house, it shows a different number, too.

Wich one would you believe?
Do you trust these numbers?

  • The calories burnt on myfitnesspal are pretty reliable, so put in what you did under this site and see which one has the closest amount of calories burnt. Whichever has the closest amount then use that one :)

Sorry, I beg to differ - I find the MFP estimates to be on the high side.

It just goes to show how hard it is to know exactly what your exercise calories are (so eat them with caution!)

The only way to get a more accurate count is by wearing a HRM.

These are only estimates on MFP or on the machines.

    Everyone is different.

Many who wear HRMs find that MFP over estimates for them but for me, when I wear my HRM, I real count is actually higher then MFP.

The most accurate way of knowing how many calories you burn is to invest in a heart rate monitor. Beware though, they can be a bit disheartening. I found out I was burning WAY less than what my machine said and even more so than MFP.
