Fitbit -- is it worth it?

My wife and I are looking at the Fitbit device, and I'm just wondering who all uses it and if it's worth the $99. Also how well is the sleep monitor on it? I've always had a hard time sleeping at night, so would this help monitor how well I'm resting? If it can track patterns that would be great.

Thanks for any input --

Sam

I think that they are totally worth it. I was extremely skeptical when DW said that she wanted to get one, but then after a week of her using it and seeing how much it motivated her to get up and moving more it made me decide to get one as well. It has been a real eye opener for how active I am or am not each day.

As for tracking your sleep patterns, it has really helped me to have an idea of how much sleep I am not getting. I really don't know what to do about that yet, but it does give me information to research.

All in all, I love my FitBit and can't recommend them more.

I love my fitbit!! It was an eyeopener for me. On days I work I get over 15,000 steps easy, but I didn't realize on day I go to class it's a struggle to get 5,000. It's really helping me move more. And...I'm very competitive so it's fun to try and beat my best. For me it was worth it and it's an effective tool. I have found myself taking the dog on longer walks, parking further away, taking the long route, etc etc.
