hi,

I'm 22, weigh 235 and go to the gym 3/4 times a week, about 1.5/2 hours a time (across zumba, yoga, cardio, rowing)

what strength training should I be doing?
I have no idea where to start??!!

im happy to push myself with the cross trainer, classes etc but i know you have to be careful with weights and i don't want to look ripped just to loose lots of weight and tone up.
do you have to get more protein to??
i also can't do squats as i have dodgy knees!

Thanks in advance guys!

  • I attend "Body Pump" at my local gym. It is 60 minutes of lifting: shoulders, biceps, triceps, squats, lunges, chest, back and abs. It is done in a group to music, you start with low weight and work your way up. You can find classes in your area, go to lesmills.com I also do Zumba Toning, you would be surprised how much toning you can get in 60 minutes with either 1-pound or 2-1/2 pound toning sticks. Again, your gym or zumba.com can help you find a class. I am 50 and have become so physically strong from doing these programs. Good Luck.
