edited November 2024 in Introduce Yourself
Hi everyone, I am new here and figured I would introduce myself. My name is Cindy and I am 33 years old. I am a lifetime WW member that has recently rejoined the program.

About 10 years ago, I weighed 190 pounds when I joined WW, and I lost 70 pounds. It took a little over a year to lose the weight. I went from a size 16/18 to a size 3 in juniors. The changes were dramatic and I felt SO GOOD. I maintained that weight for about 2 years and then very slowly started slipping back into old bad habits, laziness, etc. Along with a combination of some stressful times in my life (being engaged and having the wedding called off 4 months before the wedding, etc), I let the stress get to me, and started "not caring" as much.

Over the last 10 years, while slowly gaining the weight back, I attempted to start WW again numerous times. Each time, I would lose about 10 or 15 pounds, keep it off for a short time, and then gain it back. I just don't think my heart was into it 100% those times.

As of now, I gained all 70 pounds back, plus another 17 more.
My current weight is 217 pounds and I am 5'2". My original goal weight was 120, but I've set a new (more reasonable goal for my age, lifestyle, etc) to 135 pounds. So that means I have 82 pounds to lose - for good!

My first weigh-in will be this Saturday, and I am 100% dedicated this time to sticking with the program until I reach goal - and then maintaining that goal - especially because I did it once - so I KNOW I can do it, literally.

I recently came across MFP and thought it was a good way of tracking what I eat, how many calories I burn, etc. Plus, I've been using it to determine the nutrition facts for some recipes.

It is nice to come here and read everybody else's stories and know that "I'm not the only one".

Hey girlie - welcome to the site! I've done the same thing with WW - joined, lost 15 pounds, felt great and then slipped back into old habits and gained it all back! I have only been on this site about a month but I've found the people here to be awesome - friendly and encouraging. Feel free to add me! :)
