Importance of Dietary Cholesterol?

I understand the basics of nutrition - calories, water-soluble vs. fat soluble vitamins, importance of protein/carb/fat balance when working out, etc., but there's a lot in the feedback from MFT that I don't understand. Most notably, dietary cholesterol - I seem to never hit the number that MFT gives. Is it a maximum or a limit? What does dietary cholesterol do, anyway?

The target value for cholesterol is usually a maximum. People typically want to limit their dietary cholesterol for overall cardiovascular health.
Read more about cholesterol guidelines to determine what target it right for you. You can adjust MFPs settings so that your needs are reflected.
