Official DRI (Daily Reference Intakes) for Protein

Options
I decided to find an official source of information about the recommended daily protein intake, since it seems like a lot of people have heard that 1g of protein per 1lb of body weight is the norm and I also found a few posters challenging that claim.

The first link is from the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) where you can find the second link (which I will post below but I wanted to show you all where it came from)

Here is the PDF file that was put together by the Food and Nutrition board of the Institute of Medicine.

In the third column you will find the recommended daily intake of protein in grams per kilograms per day, depending of your sex and age you will find the recommended value.

For my age and weight it came to 48g of daily protein, that's more like a third of my weight, but my trainer still recommended the 1g per 1lb of "ideal body weight", since I do pretty intense muscle toning workouts daily. I'm personally aiming for about 110g of protein (which is my desire weight -I'm short).

Anyway just wanted to post this in case anyone else can benefit from the official sources and math of it
