I'm sooo confused

Hello everyone,
I've been trying to lose weight for many months...I only manage to not gain more...but it's not enough!!
The problem is that I am confused...
Twice in my life , when I was younger I lost weight with a low carb lifestyle, without having to count calories.
I've been trying again but without success
Now, I just don't know what to do.
I'm looking into vegan diet, then clean eating, then low carb again...I just don't manage to stick to any specific diet
I get really hungry even with a 1400 calories/ day and I hate having to count and write every calorie I eat
I eat healthy, but I have a big appetite and I can't bear to think that I have to obsess every day, all the time, about what I eat.
But it seems that if i don't do it, I'll never lose the weight :(
I would love to adopt a healthy diet where i would not have to count every calories.
i prefer to have less choice in the type of food that I eat and have more freedom with the quantities.
Any suggestions?
