Feeling that my goal weight is too low. I want to strengthen my muscle and see the definition. Is upping my calories going to impact my muscle?

Yes, you need to eat a surplus of calories, or over maintenance in order to put on significant muscle. Eating maintenance or in a calorie deficit makes it ALOT harder to add lean muscle unless you are fairly new to weight lifting in which you may see some Noob gains. start at around 200 calories above maintenance to limit fat gains that inevitably can occur. If your talking about defining muscle as opposed to building muscle, that's a matter of lowering bodyfat. Hope this helps0
