Hallo MFPs!

Just wondering if any of you are taking part in the Great Machester Run on 20 May this year and how you're doing with training, your expected time etc?

I managed to do it for free last year and ran for the RNLI... this years I have paid the extortionate entrance fee, but I am running for myself, so no pressure to raise money or any of that faff (I do so much charity work any way that my friends are probably irritated by it all!)!

I'm aiming to do it in 48 minutes but under 49 would be great too! I run this distance most days so really it's a case of (once I'm free of this busy time at work!) getting a few lbs off to get to my race weight and working on speed and breathing and polishing off my gait which seems to be quite nice now from comments from the Physical Training Instructors, boyfriend and the way it feels when I run!

Get in touch, add me if you;re doing it and who knows... we can maybe even wave at each other as we run past one another! ;)

Val x

    Tempted but £37?!? for a 10K it's not cheap.

  • I did this run a few years ago, followed by the City of Manchester run the week after. The atmosphere was brilliant, met loads of running friends, even got to run through / by Old Trafford. Was amazing day and loads of fun.

Too much cycling to get in this year for me but a 48 minute run considering the amount of people you have to run over / through and round would still be good going.

Hope you have a great day :drinker:
