Tired a lot - too few cals?

So I normally eat at around 1250 a day, and eat maybe 10% of my exercise cals back. I have noticed lately, and on any diet that a few weeks in I always end up really sleepy. Could it be because of the deficit?
I also only recently recovered from glandular fever (mono) so perhaps its cronic fatigue.
Has anyone else had probs with drowsiness? And if so, what did you do to combat it? I already drink green tea every day, and the odd coffee now and then.

EAT WOMAN!
If you're tired at this calorie intake level, this is likely due to not eating enough especially when recovering from illness. Your body is exhausted. Feed yourself.0 -
Have you checked your iron and Vitamin B12 levels? You can have a blood test at the docs to check. Both these deficiencies can make you tired.0

I need to eat for my energy... When I first lowered my Carb levels I really felt drained. I got use to it and put them back up!!!
That and a few coffees before the gym lol0 -

I totally agree!!0 -
Eat! 10% of your exercise calories (generally) isn't enough. Try at least 50-60% if you're concerned about leaving a buffer for overestimation of exercise calories.0

Yeah that could be a possibility. The last time I ate red meat was about 2 weeks ago. And my body seems to only respond to red meat as an iron source. Was planning on having a nice piece of eye fillet tomorrow night anyway
Thanks for the suggestion!
And thanks to all else who postedI was planning on changing my caloric goals to losing half a pound a week once I lose another 2-3 pounds. So hopefully Sunday's weigh-in bears good news

Hi sweetie,
I would just like to say that I got glandular fever 8 years ago, and after it "went away" it keeps reoccuring.. at least every couple years, but am always tired so could definitely be that. Although I usually wake up after a good workout. Ever since I got it for the first time I have NEVER been the same.0 -
