I need someone to explain to me so i can understand the dangers of undereating. Because of my compulsive eating habits at night i make sure i dont consume more than 500 calories between breakfast and lunch so that if i happen to eat what i didnt plan to eat then im still within my 1200 cal goal. I sometimes find myself at the end of the day having 500calories left. Id like to know the dangers of eating lower than 1200 calories a day, especially because iv been doing taebo for 30 min and i decided to do it for an hour from today, just to push myself a little harder.
Sometimes i really dont know what to eat, id have 2 veggies and grilled chicken for dinner and it will still add up to less than 400cals. unless if im calculating it all wrong
I dont want to yoyo diet, i want to do things right this time, and i can do with any help i get. even if some1 can share their meal plan

There are several things. First, your body won't be supplied with adequate nutrition so it could have an adverse affect on organs, blood pressure, etc... As you lose weight, a large portion of the weight would be from lean muscle mass, which would lead to a slower metabolism, less insulin control and a weaker immune system. Also, it can lead to your body holding onto the body fat and preventing weight loss. Below is a good article that speaks about the science. Now keep in mind, the larger you are, the less affects this could have but it's always better to eat closer to your BMR so it doesn't slow down. Also, I always say eat like the person you want to be. If you want a small tight body, then you need adequate nutrition to supply your body to be it. I understand everyone wants to lose weight quick, but the truth is, it didn't come on quick and it wont come off quick. The best thing to do is start exercising; some cardio and heavy lifting (where you fail between 8-12 reps) and work on eating clean. Your long term results will be greatly magnified if you do this. Generally when weight comes off quick, it comes back quick. And under eating doesn't necessarily mean more weight loss.

Add some complex carbohydrates to your diet. They take a long time to break down, and nourish you over a longer interval. Add 1 cup of whole grains (including pasta) to that chicken with the 2 veggies. Your calorie count will go up and you will be less hungry later in the day. Avoid sugar crashing because that plays havoc on your insulin levels over the long term.
To give you and example, 1/4 cup of old fashioned rolled oats (dry) in the morning only add up to 75 calories, but they will set your base for the day so that you won't get the hungries later on. They are not quick oats, have more fibre, and make a great porridge when cooked 5 min in a cup of water. Add half a cup of frozen berries to that, and 1/4 cup of yogurt and you've got a great breakfast.0 -
(Didn't read the other responses so sorry if someone already said this)
Your body will end up storing fat as an adaptive mechanism if you're not ingesting enough calories. You can end up losing muscle mass and you only think you're losing fat when you're not. So you end up confusing your body into thinking that you're fasting or with little access to food. The body goes into fat storage mode to help keep you alive when you eat so little.0
