Hiya, I'm reasonably new to this site and very new to the calorie counting. I was a SW member and lost quite a bit but with some problems in my life I put everything back on and since TRIED to get back on the SW plan but the amount of fruit and veg you need to eat puts my appitite off, the past week I've had hardly any appitite so I've found it hard to start anything.
Anyways, I'm spiking near 16st which I haven't been in years and my skin is really bad so I seriously need to start some sort of lifestyle change.
My calorie intake apprantly should be 1600+, I will be walking 2 dogs 1 times a day for 30+ minutes and 1 dog for 45+ minutes on a Sunday. I will try and fit some Zumba into that, I work 2 days a week at Tenpin which is a very energy draining job, 7-8 hours on my feet, rushing around, carrying heavy bowling balls and drinking water (usually get through 1liter).
I'm kinda scared of joining calorie counting, I know it works for people, but with no 'set' plan I feel I might get lost... is there any rules to it I should follow?
Also, would like to gain some friends with the same amount of weight to lose, even if your already on your way there. xx

I'm trying to get from 235 to 125-135, and would love to be friends!
I've lost about 15lbs in a month, I eat 1200 calories a day, and try to split my meals into small regular intervals.
Most of the people on my friendslist are in exactly the same position as me, and they are a constant source of support. Definitely think I couldn't have come this far without MFP, it's a great site.
Also, about calorie counting;
it's not just 'eat under X number a day', although this will technically make you lose weight. Eating under 1200 a day puts your body in starvation mode, so losing weight takes longer and will go back on quickly if you deviate. It's about eating healthily, while staying under a calorie goal, or exercising off if you go over your goal. You're definitely looking at a lifestyle change, so be prepared if you've not already had to face that.
Anyone trying to lose a lot of weight, or who just wants some support, feel free to add me.0 -
Heya - just sent you a friend request.
I've got about 5 and half stone to lose, I'm currently at 15 and half stone, so lots to shift!
I've been on MFP since January 2012 and lost just over 25lbs - the first few weeks I lost lots, but I've slowed down lots on the weight loss.
Counting and adding Calories to your diary is hard to start off with, but soon it will become completely normal to you + the more exercise you do the more you can eat....so it's kind of an incentive to exercise more! There is also a great community of people around for support0 -

Welcome!
I started at 18st and i'm currently 16st 6lb. Want to get down to around the 12st mark. I've been on here since August 2011 but have had a couple of months off and putting some of the weight back on. I usually stick to the 1200 calorie mark and sometimes eat my exercise calories back but that's very rare.
Good Luck everyone
Feel free to add me0
