I was wondering everyone's take on working out when sick. I am sick, but I still feel the need to work out. I have heard varying things on this. Some say it's fine, others say it's too much for the body.......

Depends on how sick you are. If it's a mild/not too bad cold and you feel up to it, then do it. If you have a fever and/or you feel too tired, etc because of the illness to, then don't. It's your body - you know when you push it too hard.

If you decide to go ahead, then drink lots of fluids before, during and after, and don't push yourself too hard.

General rule is that if it's above the neck, working out is fine. It can even be beneficial. (I've found that a good run clears up a stuffy head better than any medicine).

But if it's the neck and below (sore throat, chest cough, etc.) then skip the working out.

Using that as a general guideline, then listen your body and don't wear yourself out unnecessarily.
