How many people really eat the calories that they gain from exorcising? Its truthfully hard for me to eat them!

My goal calorie intake now is 1590. I rarely reach that and that is not counting the 300-600 calories I'm gaining from exorcise a few days a week. I've been steadily loosing weight a decent rate (about 2+ a week), though I'm worried that it will not continue because I'm not eating those extra calories. Plus I'm worried if I eat them I won't continue to loose. What is your thoughts?

I eat all mine. But, I think if you're comfortable and it's working or you, it's fine. I wouldn't worry at all.

I'm kind of in a situation where the only reason I exercise is so I can eat more. Lol.

Add some higher calorie food when you do eat.

I started eating mine back, it was just too difficult for me to feel satisfied and energetic with only 1200 calories and burning off 300-700 a day.

Try it out, see how it works for you. Everyone is different. If you start gaining over a few weeks, then scale back. No harm, no foul.

I usually eat all of mine. My goal is currently set to lose 1/2 lb per week (since I'm quite close to my goal) which gives me 1360 calories per day. Yesterday my exercise earned me over 700 extra calories (I have a heartrate monitor and exercised for over 90 minutes), ate a total of 1950, just short of my 2104 goal after exercise. That's more than I normally exercise and I didn't plan well to eat ALL of my exercise calories, got full in the evening and for ONCE didn't feel like I could fit in another snack. LOL Normally I burn around 200-600 and eat around 1600-2000 depending on the day. Honestly I don't have any problems eating enough on a regular day. I love to eat. I also still love a certain amount of 'junk' in my day, so it's not that hard. LOL

Even if you're trying to make ALL of your choices healthy, you can still reach your calorie goal if you want to. Try getting some protein powder and making a shake for a treat at night. A serving of the powder will probably be around 100-150 calories, blend it with a half cup of skim milk - that adds 45 calories - add in a frozen banana for around 100 calories and you've got a nice healthy treat for around 250-300 calories. Bumps your total right up for the day and takes care of any milkshake cravings you may be having. LOL If you're trying to keep carbs lower, leave out the banana and use a greek yogurt or cottage cheese instead (bonus, that'll bump up the protein even higher). Might want to add a little sweetener if you do the 'lower carb' version. Anyway that's my favorite evening snack, I look forward to it almost every night (found the original recipe here in the recipe forum - also calls for adding 1 tbsp of sugar free jello cheesecake pudding mix and a little bit of vanilla extract which I have to say is SOOO good). :-)

You can also add just plain fruit, a tbsp or two of peanut butter (usually arond 100 cal per tbsp), yogurt, juice or milk sometimes instead of water, put cheese on something in some of your meals, etc. Add a bit of oil when you're cooking. There are a lot of ways to add calories to your meals and snacks w/o necessarily bulking them up to make you feel stuffed, if that's an issue for you. You can also try just eating a portion of them for awhile and see how that works out for you - maybe just make sure your NET at the end of the day is not super-low. I shoot for my net to be at least 1200 if I can't eat all my exercise calories, although I fell just short of that yesterday. Sometimes my net may even be a little lower (like 1000 after exercise) but I also have 'high calorie' days that make up for it. Trust me. LOL

OP if you want a friend that has somewhat similar goals and eats those exercise cals, you can friend me if you want to see what I eat. I must warn you, if you're into 'clean eating' then my diary might not be very helpful, I think it's great and all but I'm not in a place where I care to change THAT much. :-)

I'd like to "exorcise" some calories. LOL. Sorry, just hit my funny bone.

Since my colorie burn swings so much from day to day I just eat as my body needs it. It in really hungry I will eat and extra snack or protien shake for the day. I don't really follow the calorie tracker, I just pay attention to the nurtiants that I'm taking in. So far this method has been working for me.

I don't eat them all, but I'll eat 1/4 - 1/2 of them back, depending on whether I'm hungry enough or not. I just really pay attention to how I feel.
