Finally Listening To My Body

For years I have struggled with eating issues, I eat when I am happy, sad, stressed, celebrating ...you name it, there is a reason for food. I eat simply bacuse it is time to eat...and not necesarily because I need to eat.

Lately... with the help of an amazing trainer, I am listening to my body. It spoke quietly at first but today, it told me what to do with a mighty roar!

Last night, we had an early dinner because we were going to check out the new gym. We ate at 5 PM and then went and did some light working out, lots of exploring of the gym ( it is HUGE) and were there for almost 3 hours. We came home, relaxed and then went to bed. I woke up this morning and had a coffee and then started doing housework. I wanted to get it done so I would have free time in the evenings and on weekends. About an hour and a half into it, my body conked out. I felt like I couldn't do anymore.

I sat for a moment and then realized that I was hungry, I had low blood sugar and that I hadn't eaten in 14 hours. Here I was doing some heavy duty cleaning with no fuel in the tank. I had some whey protein with fruit...sat for a few more minutes and then got the job done.

It's amazing what our bodies are telling us to do. I just need to listen even better

Congrats! What a huge accomplishment. It is an amazing feeling when you learn to listen and fuel your body properly. I still struggle, but not as bad as I used to. I am an emotional eater, just like you. Any reason, I eat. I'm trying to swap in exercise for food now. The only one that doesn't work for is tired. But now, if I'm tired, I sleep! LOL.
    Again, congrats!

That's great that you're learning to listen to your body and know what it wants :) Half the body is trying to decipher the body language :) Keep listening to that body of yours and I'm sure you'll succeed :)
