How often do you weigh in?

Just curious on what others do. Do you weigh yourself everyday to monitor your weight loss and then just log it in once a week. Or do you weigh yourself everyday and then log it in everyday? Or do you just weigh yourself once a week and then log it in? I weigh myself daily to stay on top of my weight loss but normally only log it once a week on the day i started this.

I weigh myself anytime I am near a scale. I don't have a working one at home. It says I weigh 70 less than I really do. If I see a gain honestly I am not logging it. Since I don't have a home scale I can't weigh myself befor eating or drinking. I only record it if its showing a loss.0

haha..i'm kind of like you i weigh myself everyday..sometimes several times a day, just for fun, like before and after i pee..lol..but yeah i only record it once a week..i wish i could go a whole week without checking everyday, cause then if there's a loss, it will seem bigger0

I generally weigh myself three times a day - in the morning before i get dressed, in the aafternoon when i get home from work and just before I go to bed. I'm always curious about how my weight fluctuates during the day.
I haven't been here a week yet, but I will post my weight once a week, gain or lose, Probably using the morning weight - that's generally the lowest.0 -
If you do a search, you will find LOTS of info/opinions about this. I weigh daily (when I am home), but it is truly a PERSONAL choice. Daily keeps ME accountable.....for others, it is weekly or monthly or not at all. You just need to find what works for you!

My weight fluctuates daily from a few ounces to as much as 3 pounds when I'm on my cycle for had a lot of sodium. I now weigh in once a month.0

I weigh myself once a week or sometimes I might sneak in one extra weigh in, in the middle of the week. Weighing everyday would just drive me crazy.0

I only weight myself once a week. I don't want to see the ups and downs daily, I want the whole enchilada all at once. At the end of the week when I weigh in, even if I gained, I'll add it in. No sense being serious about this if you can't be honest with yourself as well. I also take my measurements weekly. If I see a weight no-loss or gain, but lose inches it makes me happy.0

I log my weight once a day, in the morning just before I hop in the shower. I sometimes step on the scale at other times when I'm in the bathroom, just to see how much fluctuation there is throughout the course of the day, but I don't log those values.0

About 2-3 times a week, keeps me motivated more when I see a bigger loss...0

I just put my scale away yesterday... I was becoming a bit obsessed and weighing myself several times a day. I am only going to weigh myself 2 times a week and log it once a week.0

I started making myself crazy weighing everyday with the fluctuations, so I stick to once a week. Do whatever works best for you!0

I weigh myself every day, before a shower and after I work out. That's when I seem to weigh the least!0

I never weigh in. I don't want it to be about the numbers.0

every couple days but I only log my weight on MFP 1 x a week, usually thur/fri mornings.0

I weigh myself everyday first thing in the morning, but I have only been logging it when I show a loss. I was doing it so I would log every Tuesday, but now that I have lost weight sometimes it's a month before I show another loss, so I just post when I lose.0

I step on the scale every morning when I first get up. I know the scale will fluctuate, guess it's just out of habit/curiosity. I write down my daily weigh ins in a notepad, just to take a peek at the fluctuations, but only really pay attention to Friday morning weight.0

once a week. i try to make sure it is the same day and same time (mornings). i also take into account if I worked out the night before and type of meal I had as I know that can throw off the numbers some. as long as it's not +/- 5lbs, i know I'm on track0

Just usually once a weekI just started weighing inthough since I joined the sight I try not to go by the scale I try to go by how I fell and how my clothes feel when I tell my friends and people at the gym how much I weight they are schocked becasue I carry it so well and have a lot of muscle tone from working out so often
If I could just get rid of my belly :explode:0 -
Only once a week in the morning and in the nude. I think weighing throughout the day and after a workout is inaccurate, so morning it is after I use the bathroom.0

Ever single day twice a day, Once in the morning and once before bed, to see how what I have eaten that dave has affected my weight throughout the day..... I do not log a loss or a gain, unless I have had both for at least 3 days.... then I feel okay to log it.. Id rather not log it than have to log a gain in a few days.... !!!!0

I weighed daily until I established a baseline for calorie intake/exercise (took about a month) thenI started weighing myself 1 time every two weeks. If I did it daily I'd get too discouraged and think about it too much.0

I weigh myself on Wed & Thursday. I log the lowest weight of those 2 days. Always the same scale and time. I occasionally will weigh myself on the weekend but do not worry about the results.0

The scale I have at home only goes up to 200lbs and was a cheap model (I'm not even sure why we have it, I think someone gave it to us when they got a better scale) so I can't weigh daily nor would I trust the numbers even if I was under 200lbs. I weigh myself every thursday using the scale at the weight loss clinic I go to, then once a month it's on a Wednesday when I have to go in for blood pressure checking and all that as well.
I like doing it once a week, but on the rare times I don't do so well it can take me a few days to get back in gear. When I do well for that week the next week is me all pumped up ready to do it all over again. Gives me something to look forward to.0 -
I would suggest using the search function for the threads if it is a common question. This is probably the 450th thread with that title and the answer is in the database 1000's of times over.
But to answer your question...sometimes daily but officially, every Friday AM, first thing and after a potty break.0 -
Usually once a week, but I’m thinking of changing to every other week or once a month. The scale can really put me in a bad mood and can have a negative effect on my drive to push forward when it doesn't match how hard I’ve been working towards my weight loss goals.
Fortunately the support on MFP has been amazing so despite what the scale says I keep moving forward (in the past it wasn't so easy)...and focus on all the great benefits that I have (and will continue to reap) from exercising and making healthier food choices..the scale will catch up eventually.0 -
once every couple of weeks. Its pointless to weigh in everyday. If you are just focused on seeing a drop everyday then you will not be focused on getting your BEAST on at the gym. Weight fluctuates constantly.0

I weigh myself every morning as soon as I wake up, and after workouts, sometimes more than once a day. I do like instant gratification! Sometimes I'll log it in right away, but if it hasn't changed, or only changed by 1-2oz, I'll wait until at least 4-5oz change to log...0

I weigh myself once a month when I meet with my dietician. It's the same scale, around the same time of the day, so I get relieable results. Also, if there is a gain (which luckily there has not been) she is there, and we can figure out together the possilbe reason or what healthy changes I can make. But I agree with others that it's completely a personal choice. I just know I can become obsessive about it, so I choose once a month as a check in and it works for me!0

You're assuming that weighing in every day means someone is trying to see a drop every single time. I just like to have the data, so I log it all. I get to see a new low weight every few days, in the middle of all the ups and downs, which lets me know that I'm still making progress in the right direction.0 -
I weigh in once a week..every Thursday same time, when I wake my kids up for school and after I use the bathroom.0
