Wish me luck, day two, nothing happened yesterday other than the judge putting it off to today, due to the defense council claiming his client is too depressed and needs psych evaluation to proceed. Today we find out hopefully wether or not we proceed with a jury selection or if things will be put off yet again by this idiots stupid antics, as far as i'm concerned his *kitten* is in jail either way, he wants to stay there longer playing stupid games, so be it, I just want this over.

What a *kitten*. Your right. He is in jail and by him playing games it only keeps him in there. He should rot there for what he did to you and what he made his kids see.

What a long day. I'll keep it short and sweet, the mom is free on bond, until her next court appearance the 15th of June. The dad was granted a psych evaluation and we will return to court in 30 days to find the ruling on his "depression"......I dunno how this is going to play out, i'm getting a little nervous. My hubby's friend is my lawyer and my husband is just going nuts, but I don't think having my dh represent me is a good idea. The good thing is that the judge presiding right now, will in fact be our trial judge. This is a good thing onmore then one account, he had to reprimand this *kitten* 4 times in court cause this guy just can't sit and listen, constantly interrupting, then he spit on the floor, i dunno why, but that got him escorted out, he may be trying to play the "i'm a nut job and should get off on this" angle, but he doesn't come off as crazy, more like really angry, his comments were always well put and you could tell he's been stewing on it. The judge also had a chance to see me close up, my face and my hand are still very noticeably buggered up, it's always better then pics. Just so everyone knows, the kids involved are and will remain with me, the mom has already asked for supervised visitation which i'm very strongly against....but I have no say, it's up to the child welfare system on that one, hopefully they'll do the right thing.

Refuse to take the children anywhere but to the social services building, let a social worker supervise and watch how fast they decide that the visits need to be temporarily terminated due to the gravity of the situation! Insist your life is and has been in danger, request a police escort! Social services will not pay for these crazies to abuse the system.Insist that it is for the safety of the traumatized kids!

You know that this will drag out till your wounds don't look so bad to a Jury, Make sure you have lots of Photographs. Go to a Plastic Surgeon for consultation. They will write you an estimated bill for your reconstruction process, even if you are not going to do that it will be powerful evidence in court.
Keep a journal about your children's fear of you because of your appearance, etc. Also powerful evidence to a jury! File a civil lawsuit against these nut jobs for your injuries and demand high dollar damages for restitution.

Don't give up! We are all pulling for you.

I agree that they are stalling until you look better. I'm glad that the judge has seen what you look like. How can they even think of giving that woman any kind of visitation? Those kids deserve to be protected.
I'm praying that this trial will be quick and justice served.

I agree. The children are very well impacted by this situation. Who knows if violence was one of the reasons these children were removed from there home to begin with. Children look to the system for protection from these types of events. If it is possible that through this trauma these children have lost their faith and if forced to have a visit emotional damage can occur. If possible try to get a letter from the children’s therapist that states that these children fear for their lives or for yours ( if this is the case) and that it is not healthy to have a visit at this time. These children need time to heal and understand what occurred. :flowerforyou:
