Can anyone suggest a good scale to purchase?

I've been using my Wii fit to track my weight but it's getting annoying so I think it's time to buy an actual scale.

    Good luck! :-)

I replaced my old scale because it would vary a few pounds just stepping off and getting back on.

Alas, my new, "extremely accurate", $100 digital scale with body analysis does the same thing. ...Not always, but enough to be infuriating. It's one thing to be in maintenance mode and go, "Oh, I've gained 2 lbs. Look at that." It's another thing to be in weight loss mode, cutting calories, exercising like mad, and have the scale be out by a few pounds.

My current scale (something co-branded by WeightWatchers) is frequently out by several tenths of a pound just by stepping off then back on, or by moving it a few inches. It's crazy unreliable.

This irked me enough that I did some investigation. Turns out that despite their accuracy claims, scale manufacturers consider a 5 lb variability to be perfectly acceptable.

Now that I'm regularly and predictably losing weight, I stopped the daily weigh-ins, and went to once a week. It's much less stressful.
  • oh gosh i need one also! currently i don't own one at all ... wish i could be more help /:

I just a $20 one at Target and it works fine. Measures in 0.5 pounds. Check them out.

    Health o meter

I got it at Walmart. It's a digital scale that tracks to the tenth of a pound and I've found to be fairly accurate (There's one in the chem lab and the numbers match up). It also can be set to track weight gain/loss for different profiles and users so that it only shows loss numbers when you step on.
